Maybe it's not funny, but I always liked the idea!
Remember the hackneyed joke about cops hanging at doughnut shops?
Well, my town recently got it's first Krispy Kreme (really not that good, it's just fried dough that's got sugar pissed on it for god's sake!). It is situated on the main drag in town (a very, very busy 4 lane devided highway known as the Berlin Turnpike). I was tooling up to the stop light in front of the aforementioned fat emporium when I notice a cop car pulling out of the KK with two smug looking police officers enjoying their coffee and dognuts.
While this isn't all that surprising, the fact that I live in Newington, CT and that the police officers in question were from Hartford is. It's almost 10 miles from where these cops were supposed to be and where they were. Now it wasn't lunch time and I don't know anyone (except maybe a cop) that would drive 10 miles to get a ring of fried, fatty carbos and a cup of joe (no matter how good) whilst on break.
Kind of makes you wonder if that was the patrol commander.....
